This Privacy Policy describes how PlantAdvocate ("the App," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the App. PlantAdvocate is operated by Allison Bowman, a sole proprietor, based in the United States.

Plant and Care Data. When you use PlantAdvocate, you provide information about your plants: nicknames, species selections, and a log of care activities (watering, fertilizing, repotting, and similar events). This data is stored so the App can track your plants and generate care recommendations.
Photos. If you use the App's photo-based species identification or plant diagnosis features, you grant the App access to your device's camera or photo library to capture or select an image. Photos you submit are transmitted to our servers for processing and are used solely to provide identification or diagnosis results.
Anonymized Community Data. PlantAdvocate may share aggregated, anonymized care and scheduling data (for example, general watering intervals across many users of a given species) to help improve care recommendations across the community. This data is stripped of information that could identify you individually before it is shared or aggregated.
Technical Data. Like most apps, we may automatically receive limited technical information (such as error logs) needed to keep the App running reliably.
PlantAdvocate uses artificial intelligence to provide species identification, plant diagnosis, and care advice. Photos and plant details you submit for these features may be processed by third-party AI service providers on our behalf, solely to generate your results. These providers are not permitted to use your submissions for advertising. AI-generated results are informational and may contain errors; they are not a substitute for professional horticultural advice, and should never be relied on to determine whether a plant is safe to eat or touch. You can report inaccurate or inappropriate AI results directly in the App.

Your data is stored on servers operated by our hosting provider and encrypted at rest. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your individually identifiable plant or care data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We may share anonymized, aggregated data as described above. We may also share information with service providers who help us operate the App (such as our hosting provider and AI service providers), solely for that purpose.
PlantAdvocate is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting us at the email address above. You may also decline camera or photo access at the device level, though this will limit the App's photo-based features.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
